For me this technologies will change us by making our human capabilities and talents unused and undiscovered.
It will make people lazier than ever. The more advance the world is, the less we use our own human capabilities.

Industrial robots are somewhat underrated in today's society, but the world owes much to the productivity and quality measures imparted by robotics. Their effect on future generations may well be the assistance they provide in manufacturing faster computers, more intelligent vehicles and better consumer and health products. bounce

What the future brings?!

Once we know what we need to do, our nanotechnologies should enable us to construct replacement bodies and brains that won't be constrained to work at the crawling pace of "real time." The events in our computer chips already happen millions of times faster than those in brain cells. Hence, we could design our "mind-children" to think a million times faster than we do. To such a being, half a minute might seem as long as one of our years, and each hour as long as an entire human lifetime.

But could such beings really exist? Many thinkers firmly maintain that machines will never have thoughts like ours, because no matter how we build them, they'll always lack some vital ingredient. They call this essence by various names--like sentience, consciousness, spirit, or soul. Philosophers write entire books to prove that, because of this deficiency, machines can never feel or understand the sorts of things that people do. However, every proof in each of those books is flawed by assuming, in one way or another, the thing that it purports to prove--the existence of some magical spark that has no detectable properties.

Most technology development are being done in Japan. Some of these technology developments are making prostetic robotic arms that is connected in the nervous system. Nanotechnology is still being develop throughout the known world and still finding uses for it. One of the best uses for this nanotechnology is that it will help to cure diseases that cannot be worked on from outside help or in other words, inside the body itself. Nanobots can also help the body supply the nutrients needed by the body. When this happen, terminal diseases such as cancer and other known diseases will be easily cured.

Robotics are more common in Japan nowadays and they have become part of the lives of the Japanese. One good example is that robots can help in construction work and operate shoveling machines. But still, human intervention is still present because there is still someone controlling the robot.

I watched tv yesterday and i saw a new invention of a gasoline filling station (but i forgot the country) that was operated by a robot. It has a gasoline dispenser with a robotic arm that will dispense gasoline to a car's gas tank. It can also detect what product is suitable for a particular car. It is amazing there is already invention like this that might make our life better or worse. It might give advantages to businesses and people but it will certainly give disadvantages for humans. It can help businesses to be efficient and secured by having robots to operate business but think about it, if the day will come that only robots will operate the transactions in the world there will be no opportunities for people who are less fortunate. But these technologies will help us to make our life easier. Adios affraid

Artificial Intelligence is most prevalent in science fiction stories both in the US and Japan. But it is slowly entering our reality by using this technology as part of a weapon. There is a good side and bad side in this technology...the good side is that it will help us in achieving progress...the bad side is that it will turn back on us and make us its worst enemies (i.e. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines).

It will absolutely change our lifestyle.. We will be dependent on these technologies and we need to live with it. We need to know how to use these inventions in order to survive. These technologies will make our work easier, faster, more secure and efficient. One thing that i'm sure, it will make us lazy. Adios Basketball

Pare, isang bansa lang ang naiisip ko na gumagamit ng robot sa pang-arawaraw na buhay. Yan ang 2nd country ko na Japan...saka talagang gasoline industry pa ha hehehe. I think that the solution to the problem that you're foreseeing in the near future is that both humans and robots will be given equal opportunity, both will support the other. As you already know, mistakes being done by a human personnel is due to physical and mental fatigue from work. On the other hand, the drawback of using robots is that errors will be encountered if a wrong entry on its operational program will be made.

MOst people will love that because it can help us do things easier. People will be more lazy in doing things for their selves. They will simply use these technologies to finished their work in a small span of time.

Technology has both advantage and disadvantage, and we all know that it makes our life easier for it's advantage. Like the life changing invention of cellphones and internet which made the communication tasks easier. But it technology and inventions also have disadvantages like the destruction of the natural resources, human's behavoir and values, which gave the film directors the idea to create movies that someday future human race will be living in a world of robotics, high-end technology equipments with a very scarce or no natural resources left, that water is much more precious than gold. Economic problems would increase like population growth, food scarcity, politics, fading natural resources and other problems that would lead to chaos, denial of religion, and war, before other natural disasters would affect the humanity. Human's dependence on fuel, electricity and other technologies that contributes in destroying the natural resources is a very difficult thing to avoid. We can even ask ourselves, "what if there is no TV? no electricity? or no cellphones?", others would even take a deep breath and say "how can I live without these things?". I also agree that people should be acting as early as possible in saving the world, but all I can do is agree which is easier to say than make an action. Evil or Very Mad

Yup, we will become lazy. Magiging dependent tayo sa mga nasabing technologies but madaling mag-adapt ang mga tao. Ang isa sa mga good example nito ay yung nangyari yung bagyong Milenyo noong 2006. For number of days, other locations in the Philippines doesn't have the access in the technology because the lack of supply of electricity. Pero nag-survive pa din tayo at nag-adapt. Try to think about it...

yun tol! That's another disadvantage... natural resources are affected! But it is really hard to select! either to live with or without technolgy? Suspect

siguro yung mga ganun eh masyadong naging dependent na sa technology. but we can easily adapt because we are humans. gaya nga ng nasabi ko kay jojo eh madali tayong mabuhay kapag nawalan ng technology.

hindi kaya ginagawang hobby lang ng mga tao yung pagmamanufacture or pagdevelop ng mga robots? kasi tignan nyo kramihan ng featured robots e ginawa para kumaway, maglakad at makipagaway sa ibang robots(japan).... tapos remember classmates yung sa case natin sa ad reserch yung sa starbucks...na instead na yung mga barista yung gumagawa ng kape manually e machines nalang... nawawalan ng trabaho yung mga ibang tao dahil sa mga ibang machines. machines make our lives easier pero to what extent?......... naks! Razz

Speaking of technology, I was amazed of Italy's invention of the "Smog Scrubber", it is a new cement coating developed by Italcementi that takes smog right out of the air. It has the material called TX Active, containing titanium dioxide, which neutralises nitrous oxide and sulfur dioxide when exposed to light. It is a pullution eater which can be painted on buildings, bridges and streets that also keeps surfaces white and bright. I just wished that it will be also invented in our country and used by many building or house owners and the government in order to reduce the smog in our country, so that I don't have to cover my nose with a handkerchief everytime I am waiting for a vehicle.
