the appearance and capabilities of robots vary vastly, all robots share the features of a mechanical, movable structure under some form of autonomous control. The chain is formed of links (its bones), actuators (its muscles) and joints which can allow one or more degrees of freedom. Most contemporary robots use open serial chains in which each link connects the one before to the one after it. These robots are called serial robots and often resemble the human arm. Some robots, such as the Stewart platform, use closed parallel kinematic chains. Other structures, such as those that mimic the mechanical structure of humans, various animals and insects, are comparatively rare. FUTURE SHOCK! affraid

Research on technologies being developed today that can affect the way we live tomorrow (eg. robotics, nanotechnology, etc.). How will these technologies change us?

People today are very intelligent to do stuff like that by using advance technology, for me, there will be an advantage for us as well as disadvantages! advantages about work will be much easier for us, but another way around it will lead us not do things at all when talking about physical works! This may happen sooner for sure, we might not like it, and we might not want it, but people who have the capacity to make this things will definitely pursue it!

Technologies being developed today has really affects the way we live, we can't deny it.. because everyday we use different technologies, in our home, in school and everywhere we look we see technologies. people are moving forward.. nobody wants to move backward, so people as much as possible they create and use more technologies so everything will be easier for them.

yeah i agree with her some technologies have disadvantages it can bring destruction to our planet hehe... if and only if we humans create them for our own benefit or we create them to KILL human kind.

- yah meron dn disadvantage ang technology dahil hindi lahat ng tao ay ga2mitin ito sa mabuti, at mahirap itong controlin, sad to say ngyayari na satin to ngayon.

Nowadays technologies like robotics are becoming a hit. from the manufacturing lines to finish products like the latest homosapien toy robots. these technologies are changing the way we live. we are becoming more and more dependent on technologies. for example in manufacturing lines particularly in the car industry you would notice its technology intensive. a worker in a car manufacturer would only sit down and wait for the alarm to go off if somthing happens but most of the time he's just sitting pretty. we are becoming too dependent that we could labeled JUAN TAMAD again. but technologies brought good things also, it made things easier for us. with all the technologies being developed the world is becoming smaller. cellphones especially the internet, people could communicate where ever they are.

Technologies are stressful because society becomes so fast paced and demanding for information or contact right when they want it. It is impossible to think that today, with the swift working inventions that we have, that anyone could imagine going back to a life with 28K modems and no cell phones. Although some would take pleasure in the freedom, many would feel they are cut off from society and information and would become so demanding and restless if they do not receive the contact or news they need at the moment they want it. Whenever technology advances, it always becomes faster and more efficient. Since technologies themselves evolve into means of faster resources, those that use the tools have to keep up with the pace and become frustrated when the internet is slow or is not working properly.

Technologies being developed today has really affects the way we live, we can't deny it.. because everyday we use different technologies, in our home, in school and everywhere we look we see technologies. people are moving forward.. nobody wants to move backward, so people as much as possible they create and use more technologies so everything will be easier for them.

I agree with you chris.. technologies today has a big affect to us, it is created to do things much easier. at minsan sa sobrang bilis ng makabagong teknolohiya ngyon kailangan nting sumabay dito..

I dont agree n dapat tayo mkipagsbayan s ibang bansa cause 1 of the major problem of our economy is unempoyment, by using this technologies will definitely increase the unemployment here in the Philippines.

Excuse me Fe knino k b kampi? I dont think n ngdisagree k skn kc ang ineemphasize ko nga d2 eh manpower eh..What are you trying to say? For me no one can replace the ability of one's individual cause they have the ability to think while technologies can't. I am not saying n mawawala ang human power but certainly decrease the unemployment here in our country..Dont you think so?

New technologies would definitely bring changes in our lives. These technologies are designed obviously for us to cope up in this fast-paced world. More and more technologies are being researched on, to satisfy or simply to bring convenience to everyone. But we must ask ourselves first do we really need all these technologies? Can't we really live without it? I believe these are the questions that we should consider before supporting any technologies. I believe some of the new technologies today are useful in some ways but they are also removing the job that people can really do. What I'm trying to point out that some technologies are promoting laziness to us human beings. I'll give a basic example that we students can relate, nowadays information is so much easy to access because of the world wide web. Regarding research activity we tend to find it on the internet and we will just use a simple formula called copy + paste. Very Happy

I think this is not a healthy habit because it removes our desire to read. I'm not cleaning my hands around here but we should face the fact that oftentimes technologies really do promotes indolence.

More and more technologies are being invented or being researched on nowadays, but we should not tolerate those technologies that will harm our environment. It is a fact that these technologies are useless if will only just lead to the destruction of our environment. New technology should only help us human beings for our convenience and also up to the extent of preserving the environment as well. Surprised

I am glad to see Japan's top car manufacturing firms, Honda and Toyota are currently promoting hybrid cars, which is environmental friendly. I believe this kind of new technology are worth supporting because it will lessen our expenses when it comes to fuel and at the same time we will lessen the harming of our environment.
